Hawley Harvey Crippen was hanged on the morning of Wednesday,
Novermber
23, 1910, in Pentonville Prison. (p. 5)
Do you know the name Hawley Harvey Crippen,
and what he did? I didn’t know him until I read this book. He was a murderer.
He killed his wife because of quarrel for their divorce. He’d got married but
he had a lover who was his secretary. His lover wanted him to divorce but Dr.
Crippen couldn’t do that. After a while, his wife recognized that he fell in
love with other woman and she tried to divorce and receive almost all of his
money as indemnity. But he didn’t allow her claim and killed her with poison.
Though he ran away with his lover but finally he was caught and hanged in jail.
This book is described seven great crimes which were famous all over the world
like Dr. Crippen’s murder described above, the Mona Lisa Robbery, the Lindbergh
Kidnapping, the Great Train Robbery, the Kennedy Assassination, Patty and the
Terrorist Trap, and the Shergar Kidnapping. I think that the Kennedy Assassination
was one of the most famous incidents in the world.
